How to secure your accounts against unauthorized transfer?
To protect our customers, we have implemented an additional identity verification process to ensure that the rightful account holder has authorized the transfer request. We use two methods to confirm the requester’s identity:
- We place a call to the provided number to verify that the person making the request has direct access to the mobile device associated with the phone number. After this, we ask for explicit authorization and check that the user’s information matches the details provided for the transfer.
- Alternatively, we send a verification code via SMS to the mobile number being transferred. To authorize the transfer, you must provide us with this code.
What to do if my number has been transferred without my consent?
You should get in touch with our customer care, contact your bank, financial services, and any other high-risk services you use, such as your email account, that might verify you through your mobile number. Any such activity should be reported to the appropriate authorities.

How you can Safeguard Your TELSIM Account from Unauthorized Access?
Protecting your TELSIM account is crucial to keeping your personal information secure and preventing unauthorized access. To help you maintain a high level of security, here are some proactive steps you can take:
Create Strong and Unique Passwords: Use passwords that are complex, combining uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid obvious choices like names, birthdays, or common phrases. Make sure each of your accounts has a different password to minimize the risk.
Stay Alert for Phishing Attempts: Be wary of unexpected emails, texts, or links asking for your login details. Phishing scams often appear authentic but are designed to steal your personal information. Always verify the source before clicking on links or submitting any sensitive data.
Regularly Change Passwords: It’s a good idea to update your passwords periodically, particularly for critical accounts. This makes it harder for unauthorized users to access your information over time.
Update Your Software: Ensure your devices, apps, and antivirus programs are up to date. Updates often include important security patches that protect you from vulnerabilities.
Monitor Your Account: Frequently review your account transactions and activity. If you detect anything unusual, act quickly to secure your account and reach out to TELSIM support for assistance.
Use a Password Manager: A reliable password manager can help you securely store and organize your passwords. These tools can generate strong, unique passwords and make managing your login information much easier.
Secure Your Devices: Enable strong security features like PINs, passwords, or biometrics (fingerprint, face recognition) on all your devices to prevent unauthorized physical access.
Limit Personal Information Sharing: Be cautious about the personal details you share on social media or other platforms. Cybercriminals often use publicly available information to craft targeted attacks.
Email Protection: Since email accounts are often linked to password resets for other services, securing your email is vital. Use strong passwords and consider email encryption where possible.
Regular Data Backup: Make a habit of backing up important files and data. In the event of a security breach, you’ll be able to restore your information quickly.
Account Recovery Options: If you use security questions for account recovery, make sure the answers aren’t easily guessable or available online. Opt for less obvious questions when possible.
Stay Informed About Cybersecurity Risks: Understanding the latest security threats and attack methods helps you stay one step ahead. The more you know, the better prepared you’ll be to avoid common pitfalls.
To enhance the security of your TELSIM account, we implement additional verification measures. When registering for TELSIM My Account, you must verify an OTP to ensure that only you can create and access your account. We also perform a time-delayed verification for financial transactions made during registration to further secure your account. If you suspect an issue with your TELSIM password, change it immediately. In case you forget your password, a reset link will be sent to your registered email id. Similarly, if you forget your TELSIM My Account User ID, you will need to verify the OTP. For added security, you can set up a PIN for accessing your TELSIM account via our customer care center or in-store, ensuring your contact details are up to date before doing so.
Account security is an ongoing responsibility. By staying vigilant and applying these best practices, you can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access and data breaches.
